Nobody really comes in for extensions. They come in because they want to feel like themselves again. The hair is just how we get there.

Hidden Row started as the salon we always wanted to work in.

Hidden Row was founded after years of working in busy salons, where the same problem kept coming up. The work was good, but nobody had enough time. Consultations were squeezed between other appointments, and real questions got answered on the way out the door.

So we built the studio we always wanted to work in. Appointments are scheduled thoughtfully so every client gets the time their service actually needs, and the room stays calm whether one appointment is running or three. Nobody gets moved along because someone else is due in twenty minutes.

At Hidden Row we believe good extension work is as technical as it is creative. Placement, weight, tension, colour, growth pattern, lifestyle. Every consultation considers all of it before anything is recommended, and if extensions are not the right call for your hair right now, we will tell you.

Extensions are what we are best known for, but Hidden Row is a full salon. Blonding, highlights, dimensional colour, glosses, cuts, styling, makeup and hair loss solutions are all done here. Plenty of our clients come in for colour or a cut and never wear extensions at all, and that is completely fine.

Those standards are not one person’s preference. They are how everyone here works, and they will not change as we grow.

Extensions

Choosing between methods is confusing. That part is not your job.

Rows, tapes, K-tips, everything you have read online — it is a lot to sort through, and you do not need to arrive with an answer. That is what the consultation is for.

Most people arrive already worried about damage, and it is the right thing to ask. Extensions go wrong when the method does not suit the hair carrying it, which is why there is no best method — only the one that is right for you.

Before we talk about any of them we look at your density, your scalp health, how much hair you have at the nape and temples, how you live day to day, the maintenance you are willing to commit to, the result you want, and what will keep your own hair healthy a year from now. Then we suggest one and tell you why.

Invisible Beaded Rows

Our signature method. Wefts attached to a row of small beads set close to the scalp. The row lies flat and stays hidden even when your hair is up, and it gives the most fullness of any method we offer. It needs enough density at the nape to carry the row comfortably, so it suits medium to thick hair best.

K-Tips & Bonds

Individual strands placed one at a time. Because each one is small and can sit almost anywhere, this is usually where we land with fine hair, short layers, or anyone who wears a ponytail most days.

Tape-Ins

Thin panels taped either side of a small section of your own hair. They are light and lie flat, so a good option when you want length or thickness without much added weight.

Colour Matching

Real hair is never one flat shade, so we never order one. Extension hair is coloured in studio using several tones blended together to copy the dimension already in your own hair, matched to your ends rather than your roots. Done properly you cannot find where your hair stops and the extensions start.

Extensions only look right when the hair around them does too.

Colour, cutting and blending are done in studio alongside the extension work, because the two have to be finished together. Most of our extension clients book both.

Colour

If your colour has ever looked flat, you were not imagining it.

It usually comes down to dimension. Hair rarely grows in one flat colour, so your colour should not look that way either. We build depth and brightness that suit your natural colouring, and that sit properly with extensions when you wear them.

Every formula is planned around the condition of your hair and how often you actually want to be back in the chair. We will talk you through that plan before anything is mixed, including how it will look growing out. Colour here is just as much for clients who never wear extensions.

Blonding

Lightening worked around the condition of your hair rather than against it. Sometimes that means getting there over two appointments, and we will tell you that up front instead of pushing your hair further than it should go in one day.

Highlights & Dimensional Colour

Depth and brightness placed where they read naturally with your face and your part. Built to grow out softly, so you are not on a six-week schedule unless you want to be.

Glosses & Toning

A quick appointment that keeps tone where it should be and adds shine back. The easiest way to make colour, and extensions, look fresh for longer.

Colour Correction

Bands, old lines and previous work evened out. If extensions are the goal, this usually comes first so the match holds as your hair grows.

When extensions look obvious, it is almost always the cut.

It is the step that gets skipped, and it is the difference between hair that looks like yours and hair that looks added. Every install ends with a cut and blend, and cuts, styling and makeup are all booked on their own too.

Haircuts

Cut around how your hair actually falls and how much time you want to spend on it. Shape you can wear air-dried, not just styled.

Extension Blending

The finishing work that softens the line between your hair and the extensions. Included with every install and refreshed at your move-ups.

Styling

Blowouts and finishing for events, photos and weddings. We will also show you how to get the same result at home.

Makeup

Available for weddings, events and photo days, booked alongside hair so everything is finished in one visit.

Hair Loss Solutions

If you have been putting off this appointment, we understand.

Hair loss is a hard thing to bring to a stranger. Thinning, postpartum shedding, traction damage, loss from illness or treatment — these conversations happen quietly, in a small studio rather than on a busy salon floor, and you never have to explain more than you want to. Plenty of clients are nervous walking in, and nobody here will make you feel rushed or examined.

Sometimes the right answer is not more hair. Sometimes it is protecting the hair you already have.

We start with what changed and when, because that tells us whether extensions will help or make things worse. Density, elasticity and the condition of your scalp all get looked at before anything is suggested. Sometimes the right first step is colour or a cut that makes what you have look fuller, and no extensions at all.

Sometimes extensions are a good fit. Sometimes they are not, and we will tell you so and point you toward someone who can help instead. Protecting the hair you have is not negotiable.

We also want you to understand what is happening. Hair sheds in cycles, and a lot of what clients read online is either frightening or simply wrong. In a consultation we explain what we are seeing, whether it looks like something that recovers on its own, and what a realistic timeline looks like.

We are not doctors and we do not diagnose. If something suggests a medical cause we will say so and encourage you to see your doctor or a dermatologist first. That is not us passing you off, it is the right order to do things in.

Nothing here comes with a guarantee. What we can promise is honesty, a reason behind every recommendation, and that you will never be talked into a service you do not need.

The Consultation

We talk before anything else happens. What is bothering you, what you would like instead, how much time you actually want to spend each morning. We look at your density and scalp, and talk honestly about upkeep. You leave knowing what is realistic, what it costs, and how we will look after the hair underneath. Plenty of people book a consultation and decide to wait, and that is a fine outcome.

Two

The Design

Extension hair is ordered and coloured in studio, blending several tones to match the dimension in your own hair. If your colour needs work first, that happens here too. Placement is then mapped around your growth pattern, your part, and how you usually wear your hair back.

Three

The Installation

Calm conversation and unhurried time. Weight is spread so nothing pulls, everything sits low enough to wear your hair up, and the cut and blend are finished before you see it in the mirror.

The Care

Before you leave we show you how to wash, sleep and style it, and your next move-up is booked. Every maintenance visit is also a chance to check the hair underneath and refresh your tone.
